NATUROPATHY: WELLBEING & PREVENTIVE HEALTHCARE
Since 2001, Naturopathy has been considered the 3rd traditional medicine by the World Health Organisation (after Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine). It is recognised in many countries around the world, but not yet in France. However, its regularisation is progressing. It has been covered by certain mutual insurance companies for several years now. Please check with your health insurer for more information.
Today, it is more relevant than ever. It is an active response to the preventive health issues that the public authorities are trying to put in place, in reaction to the rise in chronic disorders and so-called diseases of civilisation. The latter appeared with the industrial revolution and developed throughout the 20th century. There has been an increase in cardiovascular diseases (obesity, heart attacks, strokes, etc.), metabolic diseases (diabetes, cholesterol, etc.), autoimmune diseases (the immune system attacks the body) and degenerative diseases (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, etc.).
Finally, it should be noted that naturopathy complements modern medicine through preventive action and support using natural methods. It takes the time to look for the root causes of chronic illness, acts over the long term, can alleviate certain symptoms, takes into account all dimensions of the being (physical, mental, psychological, emotional, energetic and even environmental), and helps to increase the body's self-healing potential. However, keep in mind it is not a substitute for current or future medical treatment, or for a medical consultation when this is necessary.
